Job Purpose

As a Seating Engineer, you will be part of a team delivering a world class occupant experience, that will meet global regulatory and consumer requirements, while being cost and mass efficient. The is an end to end role where you will start from a blank sheet of paper and end up supporting launch efforts. The role will entail interfacing with cross functional peers and suppliers on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

  • Propose and develop seating solution concepts to support design / vehicle theme. Understand the implications to meeting global regulatory requirements
  • Work with specialized seating suppliers to mature solution concepts into a manufacturable solution that delivers a world class seating system for safety and quality
  • Support the generation and maintenance of a detailed Bill of Materials. Understand costs, timing, and program deliverables
  • Interface with and support mating commodities where necessary to aid in delivery of world leading vehicle systems
  • Mentor interns as necessary to support the continued growth of the company

    Experience

    • Degree in related engineering field and/or relevant experience
    • 5+ years experience in automotive seating design
    • Previous exposure to automotive legal specifications
    • Proficient in Catia and Microsoft Office
