Job Purpose

The Power Electronics Engineering Technician is responsible to develop and execute tests and equipment to validate that the company’s products satisfy the requirements.


  • Part ordering/kitting/regular stock check
  • Preparing boards/units for tests
  • Help with test prep at external labs
  • Execute internal/external tests
  • Automate bench tests/data collection
  • General lab management/organization
  • Circuit bring up/testing
  • Equipment calibration and repair management

Required Experience

  • Experience testing AC-DC, DC-DC and DC-AC power electronics
  • Understanding of working and testing with AC voltage
  • Good bench skills with testing equipment such as benchtop or floor power supplier (AC/DC), electronic loads, oscilloscope, power analyzer, function generator etc
  • Experience working with electronic/electric systems
  • Experienced in troubleshooting and root cause analysis

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with automotive standards (ISO 16750, CISPR 25, etc..)
  • Experience working with National Instruments LabView and Test Stand
  • Technical understanding and familiarity with automotive industry standards that covers environmental, mechanical, electrical aspects of validation
  • Familiarity with CAN, LIN, Ethernet communications
  • Familiarity with NI cDAQ/PXI, VISA, XNET hardware and protocols
  • Develop NI Labview drivers for hardware functional tests
