Job Purpose

The Motor Controls Software Test Engineer will be responsible for planning, conducting, and reviewing testing activities to ensure the correct operation of the motor controller ECU.

Responsibilities

  • Validate motor control algorithms in the HIL bench, Dyno, and in-vehicle
  • Specify and plan installation of test equipment and facilities
  • Support & trouble-shoot various test benches for system validation
  • Create test cases to requirements coverage matrix for motor controls features
  • Automation of test cases and test environment to achieve “lights out” testing
  • Support debug of software issues at HIL bench and vehicle level
  • Support testing across all vehicle areas such as: Powertrain, ADAS, Battery, Body

Experience

  • Bachelors degree (or higher) in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge in electric machines, inverters, and control of electric machines
  • Knowledge and some hands-on experience with field-oriented control for PM and/or IM
  • Understanding of pulse width modulation (PWM) schemes like space vector PWM
  • Model development in with Mathworks Matlab/Simulink
  • Scripting experience in python, c(++), m-script
  • Experience with CAN Bus tools such as vector Canoe/Canalyzer
  • Familiarity with test automation tools like ECU test and integration of test cases
