Job Purpose

The Accounts Payable Specialist position is responsible for reviewing, inputting and imaging payable invoices, processing weekly payments and assisting with month end close procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of accounts payable practices and works closely with Accounting, Supply Chain, Marketing, Sales, Operations & FP&A and provide critical support in ensuring compliance with SOX, US GAAP and company policies.


Responsibilities

  • Reviews and enters invoices in accounting system manually and electronically
  • Audits transactions to ensure they follow proper company policies and procedures
  • Support the analysis of purchase order requisitions being initiated within company policy.
  • Assistance with Concur analyzing, auditing and reporting.
  • Assistance with month end accrual
  • Processes weekly vendor payments, expense reimbursements and creates reports for verification
  • Reconciles monthly vendor statements
  • Assists with month end close
  • Assists with audits and special projects
  • Interacts and effectively communicates with vendors and various internal departments
  • Shares experience and knowledge to better department
  • Reviews, processes and images vendor invoices
  • Helps file as needed
  • Consistently arrives promptly to work the assigned schedule
  • Responsible for maintaining discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer information
  • Performs other requested tasks and duties

Experience

  • 2-4 years accounting experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills: proficiency in Outlook and Word; knowledge of Excel
  • Experience with Oracle a plus
  • 5-7 years prior Accounts Payable experience required.
  • Is committed to working scheduled hours and has the flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needs
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a professional manner, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to function effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexible, with a positive attitude and passion for knowledge
  • Possesses focused attention to detail while working quickly and accurately under pressure
