Job Purpose

The Materials Engineer will support Design Quality, CMF Design, Engineering, and Purchasing teams with materials know-how to bring design vision into production vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Design/CMF and engineering teams to define specifications and requirements
  • Develop and establish Canoo’s standard CMF Design related materials specifications and requirements.
  • Develop test plans, run tests and evaluate/validate test results for material feasibilities
  • Work with engineering and CMF on new material developments
  • Manage workloads and schedules while working with Design, Engineering, and Purchasing teams as well as suppliers for final deliverables
  • Deliver feasible solutions to bring Design team’s vision into production vehicles

Experience

  • BS in Materials Science/Engineering or relevant technical discipline
  • 6+ years of new material development and testing for automotive programs
  • Sound knowledge of polymers and thermoplastics
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
