Job Purpose

The Attribute Team is looking for a highly motivated Drivability Engineer with a deep understanding of pedal and torque calibration, experience with subjective and objective evaluations for drivability. You will be working in the newly formed Attribute organization and be responsible for collaborating with functional teams to define and deliver performance attributes drivability secondary and tertiary attributes for all our vehicles . You will manage the attribute from program conception to launch. A fundamental understanding of drive unit and pedal calibration and vehicle testing is required.

Responsibilities

  • Benchmark competitive set and use “Voice of Customer” for attributes target set/references
  • Set qualitative and quantitative targets based on benchmarking information, product requirements and homologation requirements for vehicle drivability
  • Lead/support drivability instrumentation & testing on benchmark as well as Canoo vehicles
  • Propose creative solutions and detail recommendations to meet targets; Lead discussions with stakeholders to create solutions, plans and propose attributes balance to meet the customer needs
  • Create/support DVP&R development for drivability testing
  • Conduct ride & drives for jury evaluation
  • Transform objective metrics from subjective evaluations
  • Weekly report out on status and track program issues (JIRA concerns), use of KPIs/Scorecard and lead Escalation of issues through program lifecycle

Experience

  • 2+ years in drivability testing, drive unit or pedal calibration
  • Experience with AVL Drive or equivalent drivability evaluation method
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical/electrical/aerospace or related field
  • Experience with vehicle performance attribute management, instrumentation and testing
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; Ability to lead negotiation with peers and propose recommendations to leadership
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Word/Powerpoint
