Job Purpose

The Senior Engineering Team Lead’s responsibilities include assigning tasks to engineering teams, working with the Chief Engineer to set long and short-term project goals, setting appropriate Product Targets, Monitoring progress of attribute testing, developing solutions to technical issues, negotiating with vendors and clients, ensuring that projects stay within time and budgetary restraints, and compiling reports for the Chief Engineer.


  • Work as vehicle/platform team representative to interface with technical groups (hardware/software)
  • Assist in management of the project from start to completion
  • Communicate the goals of the project to engineers and professionals on the team to ensure alignment
  • Manage engineering aspects of the project from start to completion
  • Calculate costs, materials, labor and time required for hardware components
  • Delegate appropriate tasks to engineering teams
  • Analyze data and create executive reports for review
  • Support the design of mule cars
  • Create solutions for engineering issues that arise during development
  • Monitor and report technical issues in a timely manner
  • Realtime reporting of status of project issues and concerns


  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, computer science or similar
  • Master’s degree in Engineering helpful
  • 15+ years in the automotive product development and or technology industry
  • Preferably some experience in automotive hardware or software development
  • 8-10 years management experience
  • Possess in depth knowledge of automotive product development
  • Knowledge of the automotive electrical architecture
  • Knowledge of Electric vehicle software and systems, vehicle communication systems from physical to application layer, vehicle 12v power systems design, and theory and practice of software development in C/C++ or Matlab+Simulink a plus
  • Startup experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of PMSM, gearboxes, cooling systems, parking systems, mounts, and system integration a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and complete projects from ideation, to sourcing to product launches
  • Ability to navigate the complexities of a startup and deliver projects on time, at cost and at quality standards that are expected in the automotive space
  • Proven problem solver that can resolve complex technical issues
