Job Purpose

Own the closures engineering launch activities. Collaborate with other stakeholders to identify, root cause and resolve launch issues.

Responsibilities and Goals

  • Support the Supplier Quality activities prior and during the build activities
  • Support the product development and manufacturing process during the build phases and launch.
  • Collect, document and triage the build issues and lead the issue root cause activities.
  • Work with the stakeholders to define, test and implement issue resolutions
  • Support engineering design change trials
  • Review, sign-off and trial supplier requests for component changes
  • Assist Incoming Quality and Assist End-of-Line Testing
  • Support Assembly Plant cost and quality idea generation sessions
  • support finished vehicle and assembly process audits
  • Implement short and long term countermeasures to support build schedule and validate improvements
  • Travel Required: Up to 75%


Qualifications/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Equivalent
  • 10+ years of launching new programs
  • Strong knowledge of Closures systems (mechanisms, sealing, glass and end of line testing)
  • Demonstrate excellent level of analytical ability, communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues.
